Unformat SD Card Freeware —Recover Data from Formatted SD Card

Is there a way to unformat an SD card?
“This morning, I plunged my SD card from my Cannon digital camera into my Dell laptop for backing up some newly taken pictures. But, it asked me if I want to “format” this SD card. Not knowing what was going on, I clicked “OK”. After a while, I finally realized that I had deleted all these photos by the formatting. What had I done? Is there a way to unformat this SD card? If you know anything about it, please let me know!
Thank you in advance!”
